Sailor Moon amigurumi!!!!!

Wed Dec 23, 2009, 10:41 PM

Woo hoo! I've finally completed a Sailor Moon Amigurumi! I have a 15 inch Princess Serenity and Sailor Moon half completed but I really wanted to get one completed in time for Christmas. A relative of mine is just as crazy about Sailor Moon as I am and this will be the perfect gift for her!

This is the first completed humanoid amigurumi I've made. What was the most fun, though, was making the itty bitty accessories. I'm very excited with how the broach and the earrings came out but kind of sad that the crescent moon on her choker (along with her choker) isn't easy to see.

I look forward to making more Sailor Moon characters this size. Next up will be Serenity, possibly with a crescent moon staff. What is really tough is trying to make the hair. I left out the odangos in this one, hoping the odango gems would suffice. Any suggests would be very welcome on the most efficient way to create her odangos on this small a scale.

And I just want to say thank you to all who have been faving me lately! You are all so sweet and the feedback is wonderful! I hope to continue to keep you all interested. ;)

Cosplay Accessories now viewable here!

Tue Dec 15, 2009, 9:31 PM

Over four years ago I became pregnant and made the decision that I'd try my hand at cosplay accessory designing. My goal was to have a way to stay connected to my love of anime, manga and games while being productive as a stay at home mother. So Southerm Moon Creations was started and became primarily focused on Sailor Moon cosplay accessories. It has since then become way more than I ever expected and has been a fantastic experience. I've learned how to cast and dye resin, how to make different types of molds, how to craft with plaster, clay and ever foam. I learned what different paints do and how to really make paint pop. But, most of all, I found a way to be involved in cosplay despite not being able to cosplay myself. It's been incredibly fun, challenging, intellectually stimulating and something I hope I can do for many many more years.

And, perhaps, I may be able to provide my kid with really cool Halloween costumes. *grin*

I finally got around to posting my cosplay accessories on my DeviantArt page and really appreciate the wonderful comments that poured in! Thank so much to everyone and I hope to be able to continue to provide items that you all enjoy!

I may not get around to posting each item I make and sell but you can always view the full inventory at my website, along with prices.

Cafe Press and Cosplay

Sat Aug 29, 2009, 4:23 PM
This week I made the decision to join Cafe Press and take advantage of the free storefront option. You can find it at

[link]

I'm still doing cosplay accessories and you can see the entire inventory at

[link]

There you can find items from Sailor Moon, Avatar the Last Airbender, Final Fantasy, Bleach, Tenchi Muyo, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle and much more

and I also sell through Etsy

Cafe Press refuses to sell some of the fanart but prints can always be posted for sell in my Etsy page.

I'm also considering making crocheted/knitted item section. Currently I'm halfway finished with a Sailor Moon Amigurumi, a Princess Serenity amigurumi and have a plethora of hats and scarves.

And I've been working on making Usagi's purple blanket with the bunnies and moon motif from the anime. Let me tell you, making the eyes for the bunnies has turned out to be the most difficult thing so far.

Cup of Cappuccio

I started this comic back in '03 as a joke to share with my friends from illustration. It it my first comic ever, poorly done at times and, sadly, not often much of an exaggeration of some of the things we had to experience with our aging profesor.
Due to little patience with web design and, then. three jobs at once, I was unable to continue the comic and website. But I decided to put it up here so I can share it again. Despite the insane professor many of my favorite memories from college came from the friendships I made in that class.

A Week of Nothing.

Finally feeling better. Made my way to very important and needed bookstore. My poor bookstore was barely able to exist during my abscence.
Now I own north and south side clamp artbooks. If you were here you'd see the tear in my eye.
